Every year Mother Nature throws us a curveball.  This year it was a magical dusting of snow in September.  And boy did it make for a gorgeous and memorable wedding.  The last time it snowed this early in September was 1965.  52 years ago!  After seeing this stunner captured by Angela Howard Photography, with its enchanting ceremony and elegant reception planned by Melissa Fancy, we’re ready for snow in September every year. Even the clouds snuggled in on the slopes behind to watch this amazing couple say ‘I do’.

How amazing is this couple?  We loved working with Silver Summit Weddings and Events to help create this stunning wedding.  Kaitlyn wanted a really soft palette, but not your traditional champagne/blush combo.  As much as we want to talk about how pretty the pops of dusty lavender and merlot tones were in the florals, not to mention the green hellebore flown in all the way from New Zealand, we’re too distracted by how perfectly Grey Giraffe Studios captured this beautiful couple and the way they look at each other.   So perfect.  So beautiful.   We love everything about this wedding.

The bright, bold, tropical flowers are not our traditional fare but we loved designing with Silver Summit Events for this 50th Anniversary Party for the Hayes.  From the overhead tropical leaf chandeliers to the tabletops dripping with orchids, the ‘wow’ factor was…WOW!  Angela with Angela Howard Photography perfectly captured the evening’s vibrant vision, and The Stein Eriksen Lodge completely transformed the atmosphere into a tropical paradise. We loved being a part of this exciting and celebratory night for the Hayes.

To our lovely brides:  Don’t be afraid of color!  If you like the idea of color but want a timeless design, stick with monochromatic shades of one primary color.    Very often, it’s a combination of colors that are trendy, not actual color itself.

Yellow is so under utilized when it comes to picking a color palette for weddings.   We adored this beautiful design concept for our bride, Abby.  It was warm, happy, and classically beautiful…like Abby.  The textural elements tied in the rustic beauty of Blue Sky Ranch.   This will always be one of our favorite weddings.  Thank you to Hoopes Events for your organized detail to ‘day-of’ coordination and a huge shoutout to Sarah with Sparkle Photo for the AMAZING images.

We always love the idea of an at home wedding. It can be logistically challenging but when the right team comes together, the result is a beautiful, intimate and one of a kind wedding. We worked closely with Elevated Event Planning, the bride’s mother and the bride to turn the Gilmore’s stunning mountain home into a magical winter wedding. Alison, really wanted to capture an alpine feel. She didn’t totally love the idea of tons of flowers but she loved the texture of winter pines and foliages and LOTS of candle light. We brought in elements of aspen and locally harvested antler sheds for an additional wintery detail.   We’re obsessed with how Pepper captured the winter light in these amazing photos.
